An Introduction to Importing. This popular one-day course is run specifically for those new to importing. It looks at all the essential elements involved including key topics such as tariff classification, customs procedures, paying duty and VAT. Our trainer's relaxed style and use of easy-to-understand terminology helps the importing newcomer to gain an invaluable foundation in the subject. No previous experience required.  

 

Essential Guide to Customs Procedures

This one-day seminar shines light on the Customs facilities available to importers and exporters which give opportunities to minimise import duty payments and ensure compliance with customs procedures. Particular emphasis is given to the Customs Special Procedures such as duty relief regimes, eg IP/OP, the tariff and preference rules and valuation issues. 

 

Importers' Workshop: Advanced Guide to Import Procedures

An ideal follow-up to Import Essentials, or for those already experienced in import procedures - also known as the Importers' Workshop. This practical two-day workshop looks at importing in detail. Exercises on customs procedures transform theory into practice and add value and impact to this in-depth workshop.  

 

Advanced Guide to Customs Procedures

This practical workshop follows on from the Essential Guide to Customs Procedures and is aimed at delegates with some international trade knowledge. Among aims of the course is to guide you to a higher standard of compliance with import and export legislation so you can face customs audits with confidence. We will also be looking at future changes so you can review if and how they affect your company's international trade activities. 

 

Surviving a Customs Audit

Customs compliance is checked by HMRC under an audit system.  Companies can be held responsible for errors on import and export declarations made to customs for a period of three years. With the introduction of the Finance Act provisions on Senior Accounting Officers and the upcoming integration of the Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) system the customs audit takes on even more significance than it did before.
