Donald Trump President elect

Posted on: 09/11/2016

Donald Trump won the U.S. presidential election against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on 8 November in what many are describing as an upset.  President-Elect Trump’s transition team is now tasked with vetting possible Cabinet officials and lower-level appointees, receiving background briefings from the Obama Administration, and crafting policy proposals based on his campaign promises.  President-Elect Trump will be sworn-in as the 45th President of the United States on 20 January 2017

It makes arrangements under discussion like the EU TTIP Free Trade Agreement and the already signed TTP uncertain. During his election campaign, Trump pledged to create a dynamic, booming economy that generates 25 million new jobs over the next decade by boosting economic growth to an annual average of 3.5%, with the potential to reach a 4% rate. His economic plan states that increasing growth by 1.5% would result in 18 million jobs in 10 years’ time, above the projected current job growth figures of seven million. Trump also favours the adoption of reform policies with a pro-growth tax plan, a new modern regulatory framework, a trade policy that puts America first and an ‘unleashed’ American energy plan. He also has a ‘penny plan’ to reduce non-defence, non-safety net spending by 1% of the previous year’s total each year.
