Brazil files WTO complaint against United States

On 11 November, Brazil notified the WTO Secretariat that it had requested dispute consultations with the United States regarding countervailing duties imposed by the United States on imports of Brazilian cold— and hot-rolled steel flat products.

Brazil alleges the US measures are inconsistent with a number of procedural and substantive provisions under the Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures (SCM Agreement) and Article VI of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) 1994.
