Colombia: Changes to special import program adopted

The Colombian government has adopted a number of changes to the Plan Vallejo program, a special mechanism that allows Colombian exporters to import duty-free a range of raw materials, inputs, and capital goods not made in Colombia. Among other things, the number of tariff lines that benefit from the program has been expanded from 1,500 to 2,136, the application process will now be carried out electronically, and certain other administrative procedures have been streamlined.
