Investment in UK car industry falls

Investment in the U.K. car industry fell to just £322 million in the first half of 2017, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, an industry body. “It’s very difficult to cost investment if you don’t know what your output price is going to be,” said Mike Hawes, chief executive of the SMMT, pointing to Brexit-related uncertainty. Auto sector investment was £2.5 billion in 2015.
