Changes for Companies Who Only Trade With the EU

Posted on: 24/09/2018

The government has issued a notice for all companies who currently only trade with EU countries, regarding changes due to Brexit.

HMRC records show that 145,000 VAT registered businesses trade with other countries, but only within the EU.

The notice recognises that, in the event of a no-deal Brexit, changes would come into effect in just six months time. Companies affeacted would have to start completing export declarations from March 29th next year. This will involve adopting new procedures that currently don't apply when you trade with another EU country.

Strong and Herd are offering training in Export Procedures that can help you prepare for the new requirements.
