UK Exports January to September

The government issued information about exports and imports for the year to September today.

Exports for the year to September were £272 billion, an increase of 7.5% on the same period last year. This rate of increase was a sharp fall compared to the 16.8% increase in the same period last year.
Exports to the EU rose by 5.3%. The regions showing the biggest increases were Asia and Oceania (16%), and Western Europe Excluding EU (22.6%). These two figures were significantly affected by exports of erratic items including non-monetary gold.
Exports to North America increased by 3.9%, exports to the Middle East and to Latin America were down on the same period last year.
