Following the CDS update on 26 September 2026 (version 5.3.0), the Customs Declaration Service (CDS) will be unavailable during scheduled maintenance.

Businesses that submit customs declarations over this period should plan ahead, check any linked GVMS movements, and avoid leaving time-critical import or export submissions until the outage window.

This will be from the following :

The planned outage will run from 7 pm on Saturday 26 September 2026 until 8:30 am on Sunday 27 September 2026.

Any declarations that are submitted during the maintenance period will be processed once the downtime has been completed.

Traders using GVMS to create, update or embark goods should refer to the GVMS availability guidance pages.

Traders submitting import movements through GVMS during the maintenance period can check the declaration status and arrive goods where necessary.

If you are importing controlled goods with a pre-lodged declaration, you must check the guidance below and attend port inspection facilities or Inland Border Facilities where the goods need to be inspected and released.

Traders exporting goods from locations that require an arrived export declaration must submit their declaration and obtain permission to progress (P2P) before the maintenance period begins.

If you are exporting goods from any other location, you will need to arrive at the border location and obtain P2P before the maintenance period begins, or wait until the outage has finished before moving your goods.
