SHARE:

HMRC have published a service update confirming the launch of a new Online Tariff Tool Developer Portal, enabling the management of Application Programming Interfaces, or APIs, for those that use direct data access to the UK Trade Tariff.

The Development Portal enables the management of API keys and the exploration, testing, and integration of UK Tariff data directly from HMRC.

The launch of the OTT Developer Portal has no impact on the Online Trade Tariff site itself and will not affect users who are not direct consumers of Tariff data.

Likewise, the launch of the OTT Developer Portal will have no impact on, and is not associated with, the HMRC Software Development Hub, so the CDS Bulk File APIs will be unaffected.

What is the Developer Portal?

The Developer Portal allows access through Online Trade Tariff APIs. These offer structured, reliable access to official trade Tariff information, including commodity codes, duty rates, VAT, quotas, and trade measures.

The update from HMRC provides details on portal registration and how to start any migration plan to ensure the smooth continuation of service, data flow, and support.
